SA des Établissements Clément-Bayard was a French manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company from Levallois-Perret was founded in 1903 as the successor to Clément & Cie . The company's founder Adolphe Clément chose the name Bayard after the Chevalier de Bayard, Pierre du Terrail , a famous medieval knight from the region. In 1914 Adolphe Clément left the company.
In 1922, production was stopped and the plant was sold to Citroën .

Initially, there was the single-cylinder model 6 CV , the two-cylinder model 7 CV , and the four-cylinder models 14 CV , 20 CV and 27 CV , to race car with 13,963 and 16,286 cc displacement . In 1905 the two-cylinder model 8/10 CV followed , and in 1907 the four-cylinder models 10/12 CV , 35/45 CV and 50/60 CV . In 1911 the six-cylinder models 15 CV and 20 CV appeared . In 1912 the new 7 CV small car with a two-cylinder engine was presented. In 1914 there was also the six-cylinder model 30 CV and the 20 CV Knight with a four-cylinder valve engine System Knight . In 1915 the four-cylinder 8 CV model appeared . The last model was the 17.9 CV (12 CV) , which was produced from 1919 to 1922.
