Soncin was a French manufacturer of automobiles . In the literature there is also the spelling Sonçin .

Company history

Louis Soncin founded the company in Poissy in 1899 to manufacture engines. Automobile production began in 1900. The brand name was Soncin . He also made engines that he sold to other automobile manufacturers, including Hautier and Ouzou . On August 25, 1902, together with Jean-Pierre Grégoire, the name was changed to Soncin-Grégoire et Cie . On October 8, 1902, Soncin resigned from the company. Shortly thereafter, Grégoire renamed it Automobiles Grégoire . Other sources indicate that Soncin operated as Émile Ouzou et Cie and belonged to Émel Cuzon et Cie .

A small car was on offer . A single-cylinder engine made in-house with an output of 4.5 hp provided the drive . The vehicles offered space for two people. In addition, tricycles were produced that were also used in car races.
