Louet was a French manufacturer of automobiles and engines .

Company history

The company Société des Automobiles Louet in Paris began in 1902 with the production of automobiles. In 1904 the name was changed to E. Louet et Badin and the company moved to Auxerre . In addition, engines for ships and aircraft were created . Production ended in 1908.

vehicles

First there was a model with a three-cylinder engine , 18 hp and chain drive . In 1904 the range consisted of a single-cylinder model with 6 hp, a two-cylinder model with 9 hp and a three-cylinder model with 12 hp. In the same year, a six-cylinder engine with 70 hp was mounted in a chassis with a 375 cm wheelbase and presented at the Paris Motor Show. This model remained a one-off. In 1905 the 24/30 CV supplemented the range with a four-cylinder engine and cardan drive . The two- and three-cylinder models with chain drive were still available.

Engines

Six-cylinder engines with either 40 HP, 70 HP or 120 HP were developed for installation in ships and aircraft.
