Heder Quellen
The Heder Quellen are located in Upsprunge at an altitude of 101 m above sea level. NHN . They are heavily pouring karst springs, which are fed by seepage from the alpine pastures. The springs have an average discharge of 1900 liters per second.
course
After the Hederquellen the Heder flows through the nature reserve (NSG) Sültsoid , in which it absorbs salty water from several brine springs. A few meters further on, the Turbinenbach, which rises at the Vielser Hof, flows to the right. The Heder then runs through the town center of Salzkotten, past the graduation house, where further springs arise and thus increase the pouring of the "Wellebach" (drives the historic oil mill), which flows further downstream on the left. Immediately before crossing under the railway tracks, the Heder picks up the Rothebach on the right-hand side , and shortly afterwards the Wellebach (see above). The Heder then flows through the NSG Hederaue with Thuler Moorkomplex , close to Stadtteiche , Klein Verne and the Gut Wandschicht , before it takes up the Bohmke Graben , which rises above Verne , on the left . Vernaburg is now to the right of the Heder . The river then continues about 4 kilometers further in a north-westerly direction and flows behind the threshold on the left at an altitude of 83 m above sea level. NHN in the lip coming from the right . The above-ground catchment area of the Heder measures 83.907 km².
