United Motors Industries was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Paris-based company started producing automobiles in 1899. The brand name was Empress . The market was England . Production ended in 1901.

In the first model, a built-in engine from De Dion-Bouton with 2.25 hp provided the drive. The engine was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle. Didier's gearbox had two gears. The body offered space for two people. It was possible to assemble an additional seat for one or two children.

In 1901 a more modern model appeared. A De Dion-Bouton engine with 4.5 hp was mounted in the front of the vehicle and drove the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The tonneau body offered space for four people.
