Société Française de Vierzon

The Société Française de Vierzon (SFV) was a French tractor factory.

It was founded on March 28, 1878 by Célestin Gérard (* February 13, 1821 - October 18, 1885) as Société Française de matériel agricole et industriel in Vierzon . From 1934, starting with the H1 (it had a glow-head engine , similar to the German Lanz Bulldog ), the SFV was the first to sell tractors in France. Between 1933 and 1960, it manufactured 41,177 tractors. In 1957 1,740 people worked in the factory.

In 1958 the American Case Corporation became majority shareholder. In 1960 SFV and Case merged to become Case SFCV. In 1964 production was stopped.
