Automobile and motorcycle chronicle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The automobile and motorcycle chronicle ( ISSN  0171-8428 ) was a classic car magazine that was published from 1972 to 1985.

In January 1972 the first edition appeared under the name Automobil Chronik , directed by Erwin Tragatsch . In the first few months the magazine was published by the Nettelstedt car museum . From August to December 1972, the specially founded Automobil Chronik Verlags & Vertriebs GmbH & Co KG was the publisher of the magazine.

Halwart Schrader , who soon joined the company, shaped the magazine for a long time. From January 1973 the magazine appeared as Automobil und Motorrad Chronik by Verlag Schrader & Partner . With issue 10/1983 the name was changed to Automobil und Motorrad ( ISSN  0176-2176 ), the magazine was now published by BLV Verlagsgesellschaft mbH and was merged with Motor Klassik in 1985 .

The automobile and motorcycle chronicle was the first purely veteran magazine in Germany and from 1975 to 1985 it was also the news organ of the Allgemeine Schnauferl Club . It was discontinued in 1985 for economic reasons. In the closing words, Schrader referred to the Motor Klassik, which had been published since 1984, as the unofficial successor. According to Schrader, the magazine was "a model and model for a whole series of classic car publications in Europe".

Many well-known authors wrote for the automobile and motorcycle chronicle , including Helmut Krackowizer , Ulrich Kubisch , Michael Sedgwick , Paul Simsa , Fritz B. Busch , Ernst Leverkus , Dirk-Michael Conradt and Halwart Schrader and Erwin Tragatsch.
