Zwischengas.com is an online magazine about oldtimers published by the founders Daniel Reinhard and Bruno von Rotz .

content

The main focus is on historic vehicles, historic motorsport, vehicle technology and portraits of racing drivers. The magazine archive available online consists of “ auto motor und sport ” (1952–2000), Automobil Revue (1906–1992), ADAC Motorwelt (1925–2000), Illustrierter Automobil Revue (1922–1942), the motor driver (1903– 1924) and the Swiss Classics Revue (2004–2014). With a total of over 520,000 digitized magazine pages that can be accessed via a full-text search, this is probably the largest archive of German-language classic car magazines available online. In addition to the online platform, a weekly newsletter (weekly review) is sent out.

The platform contains technical data from over 30,000 vehicles, over 520,000 pages of digitized newspapers and magazines and over 500,000 photos. In addition, an attempt was started to record all vintage car magazines in a central reference work (media library). This makes the website the most extensive oldtimer internet platform in the German-speaking area. Over 10 detailed articles are published every week.

Zwischengas.com offers a wide variety of authors the opportunity to publish their anecdotes, short stories or detailed reports in order to make these forgotten stories accessible to the public again. For example, the author and former rally driver Bernhard Brägger, who is very well known in Switzerland, has written an article on 100 years of the Monte Carlo Rally .

Zwischengas.com is committed to the digitization of historical materials (brochures, photos, posters) on the subject of classic cars. Thanks to the meticulous description of each data object, visitors to the website can very quickly find content that has long been sold out. The latest project in the context of digitization is the media library, a reference work on the most important vintage car magazines, where users can enter magazines themselves.

Annual magazine

To mark its fifth anniversary, the company Zwischengas AG launched a new print product called “Jahresmagazin”, which is an ideal addition to the online content from Zwischengas.com. The new magazine appears annually, for the first time on December 11, 2015.

history

Daniel Reinhard and Bruno von Rotz founded Zwischengas AG in 2010, which operates the website. The company is based in the canton of Obwalden and the editorial office is in Zurich- Altstetten .

The reach (as of November 2015) is 113,476 visitors and 981,654 page views per month.

Cooperations

In May 2013, Zwischengas.com organized a special exhibition on plastic cars together with the Swiss Museum of Transport . Since then, the event has been held annually under the name "Fantastic Plastic".

Bruno von Rotz prepares dossiers on oldtimers for Zwischengas AG for the Tages-Anzeiger , the Berner Zeitung , the Basler Zeitung and the Blick and is responsible for the extensive articles on historic motorsport in Switzerland in the “Rennsport Schweiz” book series.

Bruno von Rotz was the author of several articles for the oldtimer supplements of the trade newspaper , some of which were also published online.

In cooperation with ADAC Motorwelt , several reports on the subject of vintage cars were published in their mobile app.
