Jürgen Hoeren

Jürgen Hoeren (born November 28, 1946 in Duisburg ) is a German non-fiction author.

Hoeren was born as the son of August and Anna Hoeren in Duisburg and studied Catholic theology, journalism and sinology in Münster , Freiburg and Taipei (Taiwan). In his journalistic master's thesis he examined the Catholic youth press 1945-1970 .

He worked for various daily and weekly newspapers before he joined the church editorial office at Südwestrundfunk in 1979 . Since the merger of SWR and SDR, he has headed the department "Cultural Word / Current Culture" in Baden-Baden .

His volumes of conversations with the theologians Eugen Drewermann , Hans Küng and Karl Lehmann saw several editions. His volume of conversations It's Time to Think of God has been translated into French ( Il est temps de penser à Dieu ), Italian ( È tempo di pensare a Dio ) and Spanish ( Es tiempo de pensar en Dios ).

Hoeren has been married since 1972, has two children and lives in Konstanz.
