Flint Motor Company was an automobile manufacturer from Flint , Michigan , USA . The company existed from 1923 to 1927 and was part of Durant Motors .

production

The Flint is considered a ready-made product because Durant Motors built in essential components from other manufacturers. So the six-cylinder engines came from Continental and the body parts were made at Budd in Philadelphia .

construction

The origins of the Flint can be traced back to the automobile manufacturer Willys . There they designed a prototype for a planned six-cylinder car, but then had to sell this prototype in order to get money to keep the company going during a financial crisis. Durant Motors bought this prototype and developed it into the Flint.

economic aspects

The Flint competed with the Buick, which was also manufactured in Flint . After financial difficulties at Durant Motors, the Flint brand was discontinued in 1927.
