Bacon Motors Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Frank W. Bacon had experience in automobile production from 1901 . In 1901 he produced seven vehicles under his own name . In 1919 he founded the new company in New Castle , Pennsylvania . President was Frederick C. Van Derhoff. The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Bacon . At the end of 1919, Bacon died in a traffic accident. Van Derhoff wanted to increase the number of vehicles to 25 vehicles per day by October 1920, but this did not succeed. Production ended in 1920.

The only surviving model had a built-in engine from Herschell-Spillman . It made 35 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 272 cm . The only known body shape was a roadster . The original price was 750 US dollars . For comparison: the high-volume Ford Model T with a 20 hp engine and 254 cm wheelbase cost $ 500 as a roadster in 1919 and $ 395 in 1920.
