Carroll Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Lorain , Ohio in 1921 . From 1921 to 1922, it manufactured automobiles that were marketed as Carroll . A total of 183 vehicles were built, one of which still exists.

Only one model was on offer. The six-cylinder engine came from the Beaver Manufacturing Company , according to two sources . The engine of the surviving vehicle, however, has a nameplate that says Buda , which means it comes from Buda . The engine developed 66 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 325 cm . There was a choice of two-seater roadster and five-seater touring car . One source says the roadster remained a prototype . The radiator grille mounted far behind the front axle was striking .
