Heine-Velox Engineering Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Gustav Otto Heine ran the Heine Piano Company in San Francisco , California . In addition, between 1905 and 1907 he had already gained experience in automobile construction with the Heine Motor Car Company . In 1921 he founded the new company for vehicle production, also in San Francisco. The brand name was again Heine-Velox .

Production ended in 1923. A total of five vehicles were built.

The vehicles were among the most expensive on the American market. A V12 engine of the Weidely Motors Company with 6382 cc displacement and 115 hp power drive to them. The chassis had a 376 cm wheelbase . The sedan , runabout, and a sports model were sold for $ 17,000 . The price could rise to $ 25,000 if the buyer had a body made to order. A sporty Victoria and four limousines were produced, one of which was not completely finished.

One vehicle stood in Harrah's Automobile Museum for a long time. Two more were owned by the Heine family in the 1980s.
