Geronimo Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1917 in Enid , Oklahoma . Will C. Allen was President, Robert Clark Vice President, and Guy E. Darland Secretary and Treasurer. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Geronimo . Commercial vehicles and tractors were added. In January 1919, Darland was replaced by EJ Masemore.

In the summer of 1920, money was borrowed to buy parts and machinery and expand. A fire in August 1920 destroyed the plant. The damage amounted to about 250,000 US dollars . The insurance was only taken out for $ 65,000. That was the end for the company.

A total of 143 passenger cars were built . About 100 of these were exported to France .

In 1917 there was the Model 4-A-40 . It had a four-cylinder engine from Lycoming with 37 hp power. The chassis had a wheelbase of 290 cm . The only structure was a touring car with five seats.

The Model 6-A-45 followed in 1918 . It had a six-cylinder engine from the Rutenber Motor Company that developed 45 hp. The wheelbase was 310 cm. There was a choice of a seven-seater touring car and a two-seater roadster .

In 1919 a touring car with seven seats and a chummy roadster with four seats were added.

In 1920 the wheelbase was lengthened by an inch (2.54 centimeters). A touring car with five seats, another touring car without specifying the number of seats, a roadster with two seats and a speedster with two seats were available.

There was also a one-ton truck and a four-wheel drive tractor.
