Shaw Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

Stanley Shaw founded the company in Galesburg , Kansas in 1903 . First he made motorized bicycles and later motorcycles . In 1920 the production of automobiles began . The brand name was Shaw . In 1930 car production ended. After that, lawnmowers and garden tractors were created. In 1962 Shaw sold the company to Brush Hog .

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Shaw were JE Shaw & Company and Walden W. Shaw Livery Company .

The only model was a buckboard . It had a small 2.5 hp engine. Some of these engines were made in-house, others bought from Briggs & Stratton . The engine power was initially transferred to the rear axle via a chain or belt. Cardan drive was available from 1926 . The open body is known as a speedster or runabout . It offered space for two people. Shaw emphasized that it was an adult car, although it was perceived as a children's car due to its small size.

After 1930 only kits for this model were sold.
