Mayfair Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
WS Carruthers, MK Coates and Frank L. Hamilton founded the company in 1925. Jesse J. Billington was also involved. The seat was in Boston , Massachusetts and the plant in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain . They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Mayfair . Plans totaled 3,000 vehicles annually. Production ended in the same year. A total of around ten vehicles were built.

The base of the vehicles formed a chassis from Ford Model T with 254 cm wheelbase . The original four-cylinder engine with 20 hp was retained. The main technical difference was a disc clutch and an ordinary three-speed transmission. The grille was replaced. The fuel tank was in the stern. The vehicles were built 14 cm lower. The only structure was a sedan with three doors. An illustration shows two doors on the right. Behind it was an oval window.
The original price was 485 US dollars . By comparison, Ford was asking $ 100 more for a new sedan.
