Bournonville Motors Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Eugene Bournonville was from Belgium but lived in the USA for a long time. He founded the company in Hoboken , New Jersey , in 1921 . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Rotary . The first vehicle was presented at the New York Automobile Show in November 1921 . Production ended in 1923. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

There was no association with the Rotary Motor Vehicle Company , which used the same brand name a few years earlier.

The vehicles had a self-developed engine with a special valve control . It was a six-cylinder engine with a capacity of around 5 liters and an output of 60 hp . Many parts were bought in. These included the frame of Parish & Bingham , the power transmission from Brown-Lipe , clutch from Borg & Beck and axes of Columbia .

The chassis had a wheelbase of 330 cm . One vehicle received a self-made body as an open touring car with space for seven people. The original price was 6,000 in the first year US dollar and last year dollars 3800th
