Jewett Motors Inc. was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in December 1921 as a subsidiary of the Paige-Detroit Motor Car Company . The seat was also in Detroit , Michigan . In 1922 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Jewett , named after Harry M. Jewett, President of Paige-Detroit. Production ended in January 1927.

All vehicles had a six-cylinder engine . Initially, the Six model had 82.55 mm bore , 127 mm stroke , 4078 cm³ displacement and 50 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 284 cm . In 1922 there were touring cars and sedans , each with five seats.

In 1923 a two-seater roadster and a four-seater coupé were added.

In 1924, the range of bodies consisted of touring cars and special touring cars with five seats, limousines and special limousines with five seats, Brougham with five seats and special roadsters with three seats.

In 1925 there was a special touring car with five seats, a standard touring car roadster with five seats, special and standard sedan with five seats, special and standard brougham with five seats and a coupé with three seats.

The New-Day was in the range from 1926 to 1927 . It had a six-cylinder engine from the Continental Motors Company . A 69.85 mm bore and 120.65 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2774 cc and an output of 40 hp. The wheelbase has been reduced according to one source and not according to another. The superstructures had five seats. Sedans are named as standard and deluxe, as well as a deluxe touring car.

The successor was the Paige 6-45 .

In total, over 115,000 vehicles were built, as can be seen in the table below. Another source says that there are no production figures, but registration figures in the USA. If vehicles were exported, the production figures would be slightly higher.
