Elkhart Motor Truck Company , previously Huffman Brothers Motor Company and Valley Motor Truck Company , was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

Huffman Brothers Motor Company was founded in Elkhart , Indiana in 1918 . In 1918 or 1919 the production of commercial vehicles began . In September 1919, additional passenger cars were announced, which were introduced in 1920. The brand name was Huffman . Bankruptcy applications from summer 1920, October 1921 and April 1923 were survived. In 1923 WL Huffman was president. Car production ended in 1925. A total of 690 cars were built.

In June 1926, the name was changed to Valley Motor Truck Company . At times the brand name Valley was also used.

In 1929 the company was renamed Elkhart Motor Truck Company . In 1931 the company was dissolved.

All cars had a six-cylinder engine . 1920 there was the Model R . The engine developed 55 hp . The chassis had a 305 cm wheelbase . The only structure was a touring car with five seats.

The Model 7-R followed from 1921 to 1922 . The data was unchanged.

The Model K was in the range between 1923 and 1924 . The range of bodies had been greatly expanded. In addition to the well-known five-seat touring car, a two-seat roadster , a sporty five-seat touring car and a seven-seat sedan were also available.

Model L appeared in 1925 . The engine power had been reduced to 50 hp and the wheelbase was shortened to 292 cm. Are Narrated Phaeton with five seats, Sports Roadster with two seats, semi sedan with four seats, business coupe with three seats and a Artcraft sedan with five seats.

The trucks had payloads between 1.5 and 4 tons.
