Skelton Motors Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles . Other sources use the corporate names Skelton Motor Corporation and Skelton Motor Car Company .
Company history
The company was founded in 1920 in St. Louis , Missouri . EB Meissner was president. The general manager WA Chapman previously worked for the Dort Motor Car Company . It was named after the doctor LS Skelton. In 1920, automobile production began at a plant at the St. Louis Car Company plant . The brand name was Skelton . Skelton died in January 1921. Attempts at reorganization failed. Production ended in 1922.
623 vehicles were built in the first year. In 1921 the number fell to 521 and in 1922 to 211 cars. A total of 1355 vehicles were built.

Only the model 35 was on offer . It had a four-cylinder engine from Lycoming . It was specified with 37 hp . From Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing electrics that came coupling of the Borg & Beck Company, the power transmission from Muncie and the carburetor Carter. The chassis had a wheelbase of 284 cm .
In 1920 there was a touring car called 35 T with five seats and a 35 R two-seater roadster. The original price was 1295 US dollars .
In 1921, the 35 CT , also known as the Seasonette, was added a five-seater sedan . The price was significantly higher at $ 2,350.
In 1922, the range of bodies was limited to the two open versions. The price was reduced to $ 995.
