Colonial Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

DA Alig, HM McDermid and RC Fulcher founded the company in January 1917. The headquarters were initially in Detroit , Michigan and from July 1917 in Indianapolis , Indiana . The production of automobiles took place only in 1917. The brand name was Colonial . In total, only a few vehicles were built, in any case significantly fewer than 1000.

There was no affiliation with the other manufacturers of Colonial vehicles : Colonial Electric Car Company , Colonial Motors Corporation, and Colonial Carriage Company .

The only model was called the Six . A six-cylinder engine with OHV valve control and 35 hp powered the vehicles. The chassis had a 295 cm wheelbase . Most were bodied as touring cars . The original price was 995 US dollars .
