The JPL Cyclecar Company was an American automobile manufacturer.

description

The company existed from 1913 to 1914 based in Detroit , Michigan . It manufactured small cars that were known as cycle cars . The car was designed by the engineer JP La Vigne . However, there are also advertisements promoting the same car as La Vigne , produced by the La Vigne Cyclecar Company - later also called La Vigne Motor Company .

The vehicle had an air-cooled four-cylinder engine with a multi-plate oil bath clutch and an interlocked spur gear. A 66.675 mm bore and 101.6 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1419 cc . The two-seater car is said to have a top speed of 80 km / h and a fuel consumption of 5.9–7.8 l / 100 km. It was available as a roadster for $ 425 or a convertible for $ 650.

The car suffered from the overall bad reputation of all cyclecars, although it was of high manufacturing quality. In 1914 production had to be stopped.
