Star Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Guy G. Shaw, JW Berauer, SJ Summer and WA Rowland founded the company in November 1909. The company was based in Indianapolis , Indiana . The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Star . In November 1911, at the request of the shareholder Theodore M. Weiss, the bankruptcy followed . In total, only a few vehicles were built.

The company is considered the eleventh automobile manufacturer to be founded in this city. This information is controversial. The following is a list of automobile manufacturers who were founded in Indianapolis up to 1909 and who actually manufactured motor vehicles. It does not include the Overland brand , which was based in Indianapolis from 1905 to 1909, but was previously founded in Terre Haute .

Other manufacturers of passenger cars of the Star brand from the USA were Star Automobile Company (Ohio) , Star Automobile Company (Illinois) , Model Gas Engine Works and Star (automobile brand) .
