Wichita Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . The company is easily confused with the Wichita Falls Motor Company .

Company history

The company was founded in 1914 in Wichita (according to some sources Wichita Falls ), Kansas . Walter H. Ilg, Theodore H. Lane and Enio Salminen were involved. They started producing automobiles in the same year. The brand name was Wichita , possibly Wichita Falls . Production ended in 1914. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

The only model was called the Cyclecar . However, it did not meet the criteria. The V2 engine came from the Spacke Machine & Tool Company . It had 88.9 mm bore , 93.218 mm stroke and 1157 cm³ displacement . The capacity limit for cycle cars was 1100 cc. The engine output of 9 hp was transmitted to the rear axle via a planetary gear and a long chain. The chassis had a wheelbase of 267 cm and a track width of 91 cm . The open vehicle offered space for two people in a row.
