Charles Sefrin Motor Carriage Company , previously Graham Automobile Company and Charles Sefrin & Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Graham Automobile Company was founded in Brooklyn , New York, in 1902 . The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Graham Motorette .

In 1903 Charles Sefrin bought the company and renamed it Charles Sefrin & Company . The brand name initially remained unchanged.

A reorganization took place in early 1904. The new company name was Charles Sefrin Motor Carriage Company . The vehicles were now marketed as Sefrin . Production ended in 1905.

Brand name Graham Motorette

Only one model was on offer. An air-cooled single-cylinder engine drove the rear axle via a chain. The open body of the runabout offered space for two people. The curb weight was given as 204 kg. The engine initially developed 3 hp . After the takeover by Sefrin, an engine from the ER Thomas Motor Car Company with 3.5 HP was used.

The single cylinder model was still offered.

A larger type completed the range. Its engine developed 9 hp. The vehicle was bodied as a touring car.

At the beginning of 1905 there were prototypes with an air-cooled two-cylinder engine , a three-speed planetary gearbox and bodies as touring cars and delivery vans . These models no longer went into production.
