Black Diamond Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Dewett Hallenbeck, George P. Rogers, Edward J. Cook, George W. Spencer, John F. Hylan and William Dieter founded the company in 1903. The seat was in Geneva , New York . Hallenbeck was president and Dieter the designer. You started by developing an automobile. The brand name was Black Diamond . However, this project got stuck in the prototype stage.
In 1904 the company merged with the Buckmobile Company . As a result, their Buckmobile was revised and manufactured in a plant in Utica . Production ended in August 1905 when the company was dissolved.

The 1903 prototype had a steam engine that Dieter designed. Further details of this steam vehicle are not known.
The Buckmobile had a two-cylinder engine with 15 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle. The roadster offered space for two people.
