Beardsley & Hubbs Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . There was no connection with Darling Motors Company , which a few years later also manufactured Darling vehicles.
Company history
Volmer Beardsley and Charles Hubbs ran the company, based in Mansfield , Ohio . In November 1900 an agreement was reached with Rollo R. Darling. Then in 1901 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Darling . Darling left the company at the end of 1901. Beardsley and Hubbs relocated to Shelby . In 1902, 40 employees produced three vehicles a week. Production ended in 1902.
Beardsley and Hubbs then founded the Shelby Motor Car Company .

Various models were on offer. All had a two-cylinder engine that was specified with 10/12 hp .
In 1901 three versions were designated as model plus number and four other versions as style plus number. Model 1 was a Stanhope , Model 2 was a Stanhope with a roof, Model 5 was a doctor 's car called Physicians's Car , Style 3 and Style 4 Combination Stanhopes and Style 6 and Style 7 Combination Brakes .
In 1902 the Model 1 was available as a Stanhope as well as a two- and four-seat passenger rig . As in the previous year, Style 6 and Style 7 were combination brakes .
