Everett Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles and engines .

Company history

Frank Milne and his partner Killam had operated a joint venture in Everett , Massachusetts , since 1897 . They made light steam engines under license from the Whitney Motor Wagon Company . In 1898 they mounted one of their engines in a vehicle. They were satisfied with the result and then founded the Everett Motor Carriage Company in the same town. Now they made other steam wagons that were marketed as Everett . Sales were restricted to the local area. Vehicle production ended in 1899. Steam boilers and engines continued to be produced until 1900. Then they sold the company to investors from Boston .

These investors founded the Oxford Automobile Company , also observed in the work vehicles forth.

Steam cars were on offer. Self-made steam engines drove the rear axle. The wheels were wire spoke wheels. One illustration shows an open two-seater with a convertible top.
