Logan Construction Company , previously Motor Storage & Repair Company and Motor Storage & Manufacturing Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Benjamin A. Gramm founded the Motor Storage & Repair Company in Chillicothe , Ohio , in 1902 . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was initially grams . In 1903 he changed the company name to Motor Storage & Manufacturing Company and the brand name to Buckeye . From 1904 the company was called Logan Construction Company and its product was Logan . Production ended in the early summer of 1908 when the company went bankrupt . Gramm then founded the Gramm-Logan Motor Car Company for the production of commercial vehicles .

There were no connections to the People's Automobile Company or the Buckeye Wagon & Motor Car Company , which used the same brand name Buckeye , nor to Northwestern Motorcycle Works , which also offered vehicles as Logan .

The only model was a steam car . The new price ranged between $ 750 and $ 900 .

This model had a four-cylinder - petrol engine . It made 12 hp . The chassis had a 229 cm wheelbase . The Surrey body shape offered space for eight people.

The vehicles also had gasoline engines. Initially, either air cooling or water cooling was available. From 1907, water-cooled engines were no longer available.

No model name has survived for the model from 1904. A two-cylinder engine with 10 HP power propelled the vehicles. The open touring car offered space for five people.

1905 there was the Model D . Its two-cylinder engine was twice as powerful, making 20 hp. The wheelbase was 229 cm. This was also a five-seater touring car.

In 1906 there were three models in the range. The Model F was a two-seater runabout with a 229 cm wheelbase. It had a two-cylinder engine with 10 hp. The Model G had the same wheelbase. Its four-cylinder engine developed 20 hp. It was bodied as a five-seater touring car. The Model H was also a touring car with five seats. However, the wheelbase was 254 cm. The four-cylinder engine developed 30 hp.

From 1907 to 1908 there were only two models left. They both had a four-cylinder engine with 20/24 hp and a wheelbase of 218 cm. The Model O was a roadster . The Blue Streak was called a semi-race roadster , so it was designed to be sporty.

In addition, from 1904 commercial vehicles were built, which from 1907 formed the focus of production.
