The Riker Electric Motor Company (1888–1899) was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

The automotive pioneer Andrew L. Riker founded the company in Brooklyn , New York City in 1888 to manufacture electric cars .

In 1899, Riker moved its headquarters to Elizabethport , New Jersey and renamed the company the Riker Electric Vehicle Company .

In 1900 he renamed the company the Riker Motor Vehicle Company . The automobile company had advanced to become a leading manufacturer of electric cars in the USA and offered them under the brand name Riker as passenger cars in the types of tricycle (three-wheeler), Runabout , Phaeton , Surrey , Victoria , Demi-Coach , Brougham , and it also built the minibus Station coach as well as mail and delivery vehicles .

In 1902 the company became part of the Electric Vehicle Company .

A car from this manufacturer was the first ever American car race winner.
