Decker Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Ward Decker ran the Automatic Telephone Exchange Company and Decker Automatic Telephone Exchange Company in Owego , New York . In addition, from 1902 he manufactured automobiles that were marketed as deckers . He only founded the company in early 1903. In the summer of the same year there were plans for a factory in Binghamton that were no longer implemented. Production ended in 1903.

A total of at least three vehicles were built, probably a few more.

Small and light vehicles were on offer. A single-cylinder engine with an output of 5.5 HP initially drove the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The open runabout offered space for two people. Was steered with a steering wheel.

In 1903 the engine output was increased to 7 hp.
