Schlig Automobile Works was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Evanston , Illinois in early 1904 . John Schlig was the owner. Partners were Mark W. Shaw and John Green, who was previously a salesman for Locomobile . The company offered parking and a charging station, obviously for electric cars . In addition, the production of automobiles began in 1904. The brand name was Schlig . Vehicle production ended in 1905. In 1906 the company was still active as a workshop. Then the track is lost.

vehicles

The company bought vehicle parts and assembled them into complete vehicles. The type of drive has not been handed down. The time and the purchase of parts could indicate gasoline engines . However, the charging station is a reference to electric motors , while the past of Green makes steam engines seem possible.

The first two vehicles were built in the spring of 1904, and were probably followed by a few more.
