Seely Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
DN Seely originally worked with X-ray machines in his small workshop . In 1899 his interest in automobiles began, which he repaired. In 1901 he founded the company in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania with WN Murray . Now the production of automobiles was added. The brand name was Seely . The focus was still on repairs. Vehicles from Locomobile , Winton , Columbia , Oldsmobile and Long Distance were also sold. In 1902 Panhard & Levassor , Gardner-Serpollet and Darracq were added. In the same year, the company's own vehicle production ended.
In the summer of 1903 Seely withdrew. Murray took over the company and carried out a reorganization. The new company name was Standard Automobile Company .

A vehicle from 1901 had a gasoline engine . It was for Seely's own use.
Another vehicle had a steam engine with 8 hp . The structure was a Surrey with four seats. The buyer was Thomas Hartley.
At least one other vehicle was created after a customer order.
