Barthel Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Oliver E. Barthel worked with Henry Ford at the Detroit Automobile Company . He left this company in an argument. In 1903, with financial help from the Davis brothers, he founded the company in Detroit , Michigan . James E. Davis became president, Charles Davis became secretary, and Barthel became an engineer. The first vehicle was ready in November 1903 and the second in January. The brand name was Barthel . After that, production ended. In 1904 the company was dissolved.
