CA Coey & Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Charles A. Coey founded the company in Chicago , Illinois in 1901 . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Coey . Vehicle production ended in 1902.

Coey also ran a car rental company , a driving school and a dealership for Thomas vehicles . In 1913 he founded the Coey Motor Company , in which he again manufactured vehicles until 1917.

One model was an electric car . The electric motors were bought in. Of these, at least ten vehicles were built.

Another model had a self-made gasoline engine . The single - cylinder two-stroke engine produced 5 hp .
