Thomson Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1900 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . William Thomson was president and William J. Thomson was secretary and treasurer. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Thomson . In early 1901, two vehicles were produced per week. In January 1903, William J. Thomson announced that some mistakes had been made. Production ended with that. Plans for an improved model could no longer be implemented.

All vehicles had a single cylinder engine with 5 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle via two chains.

From 1900 to 1901 there were Model A and Model B as a Runabout , Model C as a Phaeton , Model D as a Surrey and Model E as a delivery van .

Between 1902 and 1903, Model A , Model B and Model C remained unchanged in the range. In addition, the model BB came as a runabout.
