Taunton Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company was founded in 1901 as the successor company of the Taunton Steam Engine Company in Taunton , Massachusetts . DL Brownell as president and Everett S. Cameron, who previously worked as a designer for the Eclipse Automobile Company , were involved. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Taunton , possibly Cameron as well . Production ended in 1903. In January 1903 it went bankrupt . A total of around 25 vehicles were manufactured and sold.
In 1904 the Taunton Motor Carriage Company moved into the factory and also produced Taunton automobiles .

Only steam cars were on offer . They had a three- cylinder steam engine that powered the rear axle. There was a choice of runabouts and touring cars . The new price was $ 1000 each .
