Mueller Manufacturing Company was an American company in the mechanical engineering . There are also references to the H. Mueller Manufacturing Company .

Company history

Hieronymus Mueller founded the company in Decatur , Illinois in 1893 . He had six sons who all worked. You were active in the field of water installation and gas meters. In 1895 a vehicle was made by Benz & Cie. imported. This has been revised and entered into the Chicago Times Herald Contest . In 1896 the production of own automobiles began. The brand name was Mueller . Vehicle production ended in 1899. As far as is known, four vehicles were built. Mueller died in 1900. In January 1901, the company's entire vehicle division was offered for sale.

In 1952 the company still existed. Then the track is lost.

Mueller Industries sees itself as the successor company.

There was no connection to the Mueller Motor Car Company , which from 1909 onwards used the same brand name for their vehicles.

The Benz I bought had a single-cylinder engine . Mueller enlarged the bore from 130 mm to 140 mm. Instead of the original two-speed gearbox, he installed a three-speed plus reverse gear, improved the cooling system and used his own spark plugs and carburetors .

One of the following vehicles had a two-cylinder engine and four seats facing the direction of travel.
