Holland was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Sam Holland of Park River , North Dakota was a blacksmith . He manufactured automobiles between 1898 and 1908. The brand name was Holland . Most of the customers were his employees and friends. The number was just over six vehicles.

The first vehicle was a steam car . There was space for four people.

This was followed by several tricycles with single cylinder - petrol engine .

The next model was a four-wheeled vehicle. The runabout design offered space for two people. A self-made single-cylinder engine with 6 HP power drove the rear axle via a chain. Two water coolers are noteworthy . The wheelbase was 170 cm and the track width 140 cm. This vehicle has been preserved.

Another runabout appeared in April 1905. Its engine developed 8.5 hp.

This was followed by a vehicle with an air-cooled four-cylinder engine and 12 hp. This model was featured in the local press for six weeks.
