United States Motor Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of engines and automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in New York City in 1899 . It bought up patent rights for vehicles that had seen little or no production. These included a vehicle from the Back Bay Cycle & Motor Company with a gasoline engine , an electric car from the Dey-Griswold & Company and a steam car of the United States Automobile Company of Milwaukee . Then the production of automobiles began. The brand name was United States . Vehicle production ended in 1900. After that, engines were made.

Other American manufacturers of passenger cars under this brand name were United States Auto-Motor Company and United States Construction Company .

Products

Only vehicles with a gasoline engine designed by WT McCullough were on offer. Both passenger cars and commercial vehicles were available .
