Ball was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

Charles A. Ball was from Paterson , New Jersey . Here he manufactured a steam car for his own use in 1868 .

From 1901 he worked for the Miami Cycle and Manufacturing Company in Middletown , Ohio . Here he made another steam wagon called the Ramapaugh Steamer . Ball left Ohio after a vehicle accident in April 1902 that was fatal for a boy.

He returned to his homeland. Here he founded a new company and manufactured two more vehicles by 1903, which were sold.

The only models were steam cars. The Ramapaugh Steamer was a large vehicle that could accommodate eight people. It weighed around 1800 kg. The steam engine made 60 hp . The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City bought the vehicle.

The two vehicles from the last company were comparable to the Ramapaugh Steamer . They were for 10,000 US dollars sold.
