Jenkins Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . Another source uses the Francis Jenkins Auto Company name .
Company history
Charles Francis Jenkins made a steam car as early as 1898 . In 1900 he founded the company in Washington, DC The brand name was Jenkins . Production ended in 1901. The company was dissolved in early 1902.
There was no association with the Jenkins Motor Car Company , which used the same brand name a few years later.
vehicles
The first vehicles were steam cars. A passenger car had a steam engine with 2.5 hp . A setup as a runabout and an empty weight of only 145 kg. In addition, a truck with a length of 488 cm and a bus have been handed down.
