Howard Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles from New Jersey .

Company history

William L. Howard experimented on automobiles from 1893. In 1895 the first was finished. At the time he was running the Howard Cycle Company in Trenton , New Jersey. It was not until 1900 that he was able to found the automobile production company with financial support. George B. Yard was President, Howard Vice President, Frank W. Williams Secretary, and Frank W. Muschert Treasurer. The brand name was Howard . Production ended in 1903.

The first prototype had two gasoline engines of Wing with 3 HP power. The open body offered space for six to nine people.

Steam cars followed later . They had a steam engine with two cylinders and a chain drive. Was steered with a steering lever.
