Bates Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

MF Bates already noted in his from 1889 Bates & Edmonds Motor Company gasoline engines ago. In July 1903 he founded a separate company for automobile production. The seat was in Lansing , Michigan . Production began at the end of 1903. The brand name was Bates . Production ended in 1905.

vehicles

The first model was a vehicle with a two-cylinder engine made in-house. The engine developed 16 hp . In 1905 a model with a three-cylinder engine that developed 18 hp followed.
