The Abendroth & Root Manufacturing Co. of Newburgh in the State of New York was founded in 1866 and put water boilers and other sanitary material ago.

In 1906 it was decided to enter the automobile business. Vehicles of the upper middle class were built with large four-cylinder engines and the name Frontenac . In 1906 twelve cars were built; in the following year production peaked at 100 units. Until 1913, the vehicles were still being built in ever smaller numbers. From 1912 to 1915 3 to 5 ton trucks with four-cylinder engines and chain drives were produced. Then the company gave up car manufacturing and focused again on the plumbing business.

It is not known when the company was dissolved.

One vehicle still exists.
