Bayer Brothers Carriage Works was an American body manufacturer.

Company history

The company from Leavenworth , Kansas manufactured bodies for carriages from 1857 . In 1905 Henry Bauer headed the company. In that year four automobiles were built that were marketed as a farmer . Charles Boyle was the designer. It is not known when the company was dissolved.

The only model was a tricycle. A two-cylinder engine , which was mounted under the seat, propelled the vehicles. Was steered with a steering lever.

A vehicle was sold and shipped to a company in the Carnival, Fastnacht and Mardi Gras sector .

A buyer from Los Angeles paid 350 dollars for a vehicle. By comparison, the Ford Model C cost at least $ 800.

A vehicle acquired Hease Motor Company of Kansas City, Missouri .

The fourth vehicle remained in the possession of Henry Bauer. 20 years later Henry Ford tried in vain to acquire this vehicle for his museum.
