Wizard engine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wizard Motor Company was an American engine and automobile manufacturer in Indianapolis (Indiana) .

description

The company was led by PS Florea, OC Forbes and EH Habig. It manufactured gasoline engines from 1913 to 1914 . They were V2 engines with air cooling . The power was specified as 9 bhp (6.6 kW). Buyers should be manufacturers of cycle cars . This engine was relatively expensive at $ 160 .

In January 1914, the company decided to manufacture cycle cars itself. The capital was increased to $ 50,000 for this purpose. The engine had 85.725 mm cylinder bore and 98.425 mm piston stroke . This resulted in a displacement of 1136 cm³ . This exceeded the capacity limit for cycle cars.

In 1917 one vehicle was still registered in California . It had the serial number DL 3 . One source sees this as an indication that at least three vehicles were made.
