ET Burrowes Company was an American company.

Company history

The company was founded in 1875. It was based in Portland , Maine . It originally made glass . Automobiles were also made between 1904 and 1908 . The brand name was Burrowes . There were eight vehicles in total, one of which still exists and a second is likely.

In 1912, when Edward Thomas Burrowes retired, it was the largest glass manufacturer in the world. Around 1912, it also manufactured pool tables and folding tables. It is not known when the company was dissolved.

From 1904 to 1905 there was a small car. A single cylinder engine was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle via a chain. The open runabout offered space for two people.

In 1908 a larger touring car was in the range. It had a four-cylinder engine and cardan drive .
