Lagerquist Auto Company , previously the Lagerquist Carriage Company , was an American manufacturer of carriages , automobiles, and bodywork .

Company history

The company was based in Des Moines , Iowa . The brothers Henry and Hugo Lagerquist ran it. At first they made carriages. In 1909 the production of automobiles was added. The brand name was Lagerquist for passenger cars and Hawkeye for vans . In November 1909 a new plant with two floors was built. Part of it was intended as a repair shop. Motor vehicle production ended in 1909.

In 1929 bodies were still being made. Then the track of the company is lost.
