Badger Brass Manufacturing Company was an American automotive company.

Company history

The company was based in Kenosha , Wisconsin . It manufactured headlights from 1898 . In 1901 a single prototype was created , which was called Badger . In 1913 the production of automobiles began . Richard Welles was the designer. The brand name was True . In January 1914, LF Keck announced that no more vehicles would be produced. Two sources conclude that production ended in 1913. The production number remained low. The plant was sold in 1917.

The prototype from 1901 was a steam car .

The vehicles from 1913 were called cycle cars . They had a V2 engine from Spacke . 88.9 mm bore and 93.218 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1157 cc . The engine capacity limit of 1100 cm³ for cycle cars was exceeded. The engine output of 10 hp was transmitted to the rear axle via belts. The chassis had a wheelbase of 264 cm . The open body offered space for two people in a row. The driver sat in the back. The original price was 400 US dollars .
